In Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra allegedly rammed a car on the protesting farmers. These farmers were opposing Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. 8 people died in this incident.
ASP Arun Kumar Singh of Lakhimpur Kheri has confirmed 8 deaths, of which 4 were farmers and the remaining 4 were either in the vehicle that crushed the farmers or were sitting in other vehicles included in the minister’s convoy. After the incident, angry farmers set two vehicles on fire.
Here, on Sunday late evening, Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra denied the involvement of his son in the incident. Mishra said that some mischievous elements who entered among the protesting farmers thrashed three BJP workers and the driver of a vehicle in their convoy. He even said that his son was not present at the spot.
