NASA launched the world’s largest and most powerful James Webb Space Telescope from the Kourou Launch Station in French Guiana on the northeast coast of South America.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said that this is an extraordinary mission. It was sent to space with the help of Ariane-5 ECA rocket.
The purpose of installing this truck-sized telescope at an altitude of about 1.5 million km from Earth is to look back into the universe and back in time.
This will help in the search for galaxies, asteroids, black holes and ‘claims of aliens’, which are miles light-years away. This will help in studying frozen oceans on the moons at the edge of our solar system.
