Major attack on mosque in Afghanistan, at least 100 killed in bomb blast

At least 50 people were killed in a suicide bombing on Friday at a mosque in the Afghan city of Kunduz. This is the biggest attack since the US military left the country. In Afghanistan, once again targeting the mosque, it has been attacked. In which at least 100 people have died and dozens have been injured. According to the news agency AFP, a Taliban official says, a Shia mosque has been attacked in Kunduz city after Friday prayers.

Scattered bodies could be seen in the Said Abad mosque of the Shia Muslim minority. More than 100 people were injured in the blast in the northern city. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack. Sunni Muslim extremists are often believed to be behind the targeting of Shia Muslims.

The United Nations said Friday’s blast was “the third deadly attack this week targeting a religious institution” and part of a “disturbing structure through violence”.
